David Sesser, M.L.I.S., Ed.D.Dr. David Sesser is an Associate Professor of Library Science and serves as the Director of Sims Memorial Library. In this role, he oversees the daily operations of the facility, including the iHub. Sesser also serves as the university representative to LOUIS, the Louisiana Library Network. Sesser previously held roles at Henderson State University, including Acting Library Director, Director of the Museum Studies Program, and University Historian. His work has appeared in multiple publications, including The Southeastern Librarian and the Encyclopedia of Arkansas. Additionally, Sesser has authored two books: The Little Rock Arsenal Crisis: On the Precipice of the American Civil War and The School with a Heart: Henderson State University at 125. Formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts in History and Anthropology from Henderson State University, where he also earned a Master of Liberal Arts in Social Sciences with a History emphasis. Additional degrees include a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Master of Arts in Public History and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

His research focuses on the history of higher education, particularly public regional institutions in the South, as well as the history of the American Civil War with an emphasis on the conflict west of the Mississippi River.
