Dr. David C. Wyld is the Merritt Professor of Strategic Management at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he teaches Business Strategy (MGMT 4640) and Principles of Management (MGMT 3510). He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Memphis in 1993.

Dr. Wyld is a prolific scholar and recognized expert in the emerging applications of technology across private and public sectors. In 2024, he was named a Top Scholar by ScholarGPS, ranking among the top 0.5% of scholars worldwide, including a Top 50 designation in radio-frequency identification and Top 200 in the broader field of radio frequency. He has authored nearly 100 publications and accumulated over 1,300 predicted citations.

A recipient of Southeastern’s President’s Award for both Excellence in Teaching and Research, Dr. Wyld combines academic rigor with practical experience as a strategic management consultant, expert witness, and invited speaker. He has appeared on media outlets such as The Discovery Channel, ESPN Radio, and Federal News Radio to discuss management and technology topics.

Dr. Wyld’s research, teaching, and consulting work emphasize innovation, strategy, and the impactful use of technology in organizational settings, preparing students to succeed in complex and evolving business environments.
