Ellen John is an Assistant Professor of Library Science and serves as Head of Access Services for Sims Memorial Library. She received her Master of Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University and an undergraduate degree at Loyola University. She manages the oversight of access services functions, including: circulation, course reserves, interlibrary/document delivery, stacks maintenance, building access, group study rooms, study carrels, and technology checkouts. She is the Louisiana Library Association’s (LLA) Annual Conference Chair for 2026 and 2027, the Chair of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee for the Southeastern Library Association (SELA), and a member of the American Library Association (ALA).
