Department of Health and Human SciencesDr Erica Morgan earned her Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University in 1996 and Doctor of Social Work degree from Tulane University in 2021. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the past 25 years, she has served both children, adolescents, and adults in every level of care from outpatient services to residential treatment settings agencies such as Youth Service Bureau, Lafourche Parish Mental Health Clinic, DePaul-Tulane Behavioral Health Center, River Oaks Hospital, Louis Crisis Center, Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, RKM, and Mindstrong.
She is Vice-President of Action Youth and Community Resources (AYCR), a youth development non-profit with a mission to reduce youth substance use and improve youth mental health through education and empowerment. As a grant-writer, Erica has garnered over $60,000 in funding to expand programs so more youth can benefit from the protective factors AYCR provides. She is a member of the American Association of Suicidology and is a Certified Psychological Autopsy Investigator.
Dr. Erica Morgan has specialized in psychiatric social work, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, person-centered approaches, therapeutic writing, trauma recovery, adolescent and young adult mental health, and youth empowerment and leadership training.
