Dr. Florida Uzoaru is an assistant professor in the Department of Health and Human Sciences. Her research examines how health systems, policies, and innovations shape equitable care delivery and population health outcomes. She has published on the effects of Medicaid expansion on health services utilization for children with ADHD and/or ASD, as well as on the role of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and clinical management of neurodevelopmental disorders. She also studies community health strategies that address health disparities, applying implementation science frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness and equity impacts of interventions. In addition to her research, Dr. Florida is actively engaged in teaching, mentoring, and service, preparing future health leaders to critically assess healthcare delivery models and implement health strategies that promote fairness and accountability.

Area of Expertise

Health policy, neurodevelopmental disorders, and health disparities. Her expertise also includes social determinants of health, Medicaid, health innovation, systematic reviews methodology, and the design and evaluation of community-based interventions.
