About:
Dr. Jamie Chatman Baham is an Instructor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics. She has been a member of the department since 2021.

Education:
Dr. Baham completed a B.S. in Mathematics from Spelman College. She earned a M.S. and PhD in Statistics from Rice University. As a Kellogg Health Disparities Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh, she earned a Masters in Public Health (M.P.H). Dr. Baham also went on to complete a Masters in Divinity at Vanderbilt University.

Teaching Focus:
Dr. Baham focuses on the dual enrollment courses that the Mathematics Department offers: College Algebra, Trigonometry, Applied Calculus, and Elementary Statistics. She brings extensive teaching experience from Strayer University, Bryant & Stratton College, and Nashville State Community College (2015-2021), where she taught Probability & Statistics, Statistics in Healthcare, College Mathematics, Precalculus, and Business Data and Decisions in both online and classroom settings.

Area of Expertise

Dr. Baham’s research interests include utilizing statistical methodologies, data mining, and machine learning techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, including structured and unstructured data. She works well on research teams and consulting across academic disciplines.
