Janie Branham has been a member of the Southeastern Louisiana University faculty since March 1992 and currently serves as the Special Projects Librarian. She holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Library Science. From 1992 until May 2024, Branham held the position as Head of Serials at Sims Memorial Library and served as interim Library Director from 2020 to 2022. Branham earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Morehead State University and a Master of Library Science from the University of Kentucky. Branham’s areas of interest include serials management, collection development, effective liaison relationships between the library and other entities within the University, and contributions to the work of the statewide library consortium. More recently, focus has been given to library-fundraising projects and more opportunities for student engagement. Branham is also a member of and serves as the Library Liaison to the Friends of Sims Library, which supports the library with fundraisers plus various educational and cultural events throughout the year.
