Dr. Jennifer Peak is an instructor in the Department of Biological Sciences where she teaches a variety of courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology, Professions of Biology, Horticulture, and General Biology. She earned her Ph.D. from Louisiana State University and both her M.S. and B.S. from Southeastern Louisiana University. Dr. Peak’s expertise lies in human osteology and science pedagogy with a research focus on using technological advances, such as virtual reality, and historical approaches to enhance knowledge retention and student engagement. Her teaching approach utilizes active learning, constructivism and technology-enhanced pedagogies to create inclusive, evidence-based strategies that improve student outcomes. At the institutional level, Dr. Peak has been recognized as an excellent teacher and was selected through student nominations as the 2025 Second Runner-Up for Praise the Pride.
