Department of Visual Art + DesignKathryn Agnes Baczeski is a clay-based artist and Assistant Professor of Ceramics at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. She earned her BFA in Sculpture at the University of Connecticut in 2009, and MFA in Ceramics from Indiana University in 2016.
Baczeski's teaching and creative practices encompass sculpture, installation, performance art, and experiential immersive experiences. Recently, she exhibited at the Gyeonggi Ceramics Biennale in South Korea, where she won the Special Prize recognition for her work, and is showing her work at the 2025 Shiwan Cup’s 13th International Youth Ceramic Arts in China. She is the co-founder of Crescent City Clayworks, a ceramic art studio in New Orleans, and champions art in all its forms.
