Kimberly Nunez is a Sport Management Instructor with experience in both higher education and secondary education. She currently teaches in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies, where she develops and delivers courses such as Introduction to Sport Management, Facility and Event Management, Ethics and Governance in Sport, History of Sport and Physcial Education, and Sports Information and Media Relations.
Prior to joining Southeastern in 2023, Nunez taught mathematics and physical education at Mandeville High School and St. Charles Catholic High School, as well as sport-related coursework at Pearl River Community College. She has also been actively engaged in coaching and her community, serving as a softball and basketball coach with Coquille Parks and Recreation and former head softball coach at Mandeville High School.
Her scholarly engagement includes conference presentations on NCAA amateurism and the regulation of sports betting at the Louisiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (LAHPERD) and the Commission on Sport Management Education (COSMA).
Nunez holds a Master of Science in Sport Management (2012) and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Coaching Education (2010), both from the University of Southern Mississippi. She also maintains certifications in physical education, health, and mathematics education, along with specialized training in coaching and online teaching.
