Kristina McBride is an Instructor in the Department of English and World Languages. With an M.A. in English from Northwestern State University and an M.A.T. from McNeese State University, she is especially interested in helping the freshmen in her 1000 and 1010 composition courses make the transition from high school to college writing. She emphasizes the goal of students finding their voice through the writing process and reflection. In her American literature survey courses, she works to show students how literature can lead to societal connections across time. As a member of the department’s Freshman Advisory Committee, she seeks to be an advocate for students and faculty alike. She brings to the classroom her experience working with Student Support Services, where she provided services to low-income and first-generation college students as well as students with disabilities.
