First-Year SuccessLindsey Poret-Willard is passionate about helping students succeed both in and out of the classroom. She earned her Master of Music in Performance and Bachelor of Music Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and now combines her background in music and advising to support first-year students. Lindsey has shared her work on transforming student engagement at the NACADA Conference, and created the discussion panel “Oh, The Places Music Will Take Us” to inspire students interested in the various paths they can take their music degrees upon graduation. On campus, she serves as a faculty advisor to Sigma Alpha Iota and stays active in performing with various music ensembles. Lindsey also serves as a member in several professional organizations that keep her connected to both advising and music education.
