Melissa Caserta is an instructor and clinical educator in Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Department of Health and Human Sciences. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language Pathology. Melissa has been a practicing SLP for over 27 years. She has worked extensively with pediatric populations. She worked in the St. Tammany School System for 19 years, where she was as a member of the Assistive Technology Team, an elementary and preschool therapist, and a dysphagia case manager. She also served as the assistant coordinator for the Speech Therapy Program. Melissa has also provided services in acute care and in-patient rehabilitation for adults.
Area of Expertise
Melissa's area of focus is pediatric communication disorders, including speech sound disorders, language and literacy, as well as dysphagia.
