Dr. Mindy Crain-Dorough is a professor of educational research methodology specializing in mixed methods research and data-driven decision-making. She has served as a methodologist on over 80 dissertation committees. Before joining the faculty, she was a research analyst in the area of school accountability at the Louisiana Department of Education. Her work has been published in academic journals and books in the field of education, and she is currently pursing research regarding the use of improvement science for doctoral studies.
Her research focuses on improving research methods instruction in areas such as building research self-efficacy, developing applied research skills for data use, and preparing students to connect research with practice. She has recently extended this work to improvement science for doctoral education.
