Dr. Nicholas S. Holtzman is an assistant professor of psychology specializing in
social/personality psychology and quantitative psychology. His research explores topics
revolving around self-focused attention and narcissism, as well as relevant
methodological topics (e.g., psychometrics, assessment). Before joining the faculty at
Southeastern Louisiana University, he spent about a decade on faculty at Georgia
Southern University. He earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Washington University in St.
Louis in 2011. Through 2028, Dr. Holtzman is serving as an associate editor at the
flagship journal of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology titled Personality
and Social Psychology Bulletin.
Dr. Holtzman is trained in social/personality psychology, quantitative methods in psychology. His expertise is
leveraged to understand the origins, manifestations, and consequences of selfish and
self-focused tendencies. Such topics have implications for the neighboring fields of
clinical science and health psychology.
