Rebecca Hite has been an instructor in the Department of English and World Languages at Southeastern Louisiana University for over 40 years, and she is also the director of the General Studies Program at Southeastern. Her MA is from Louisiana State University, with an emphasis in Shakespeare, 20th century American literature, and theatre.

Area of Expertise

Ms. Hite teaches 2000-level survey classes in World, British, and American Literature as well as second-semester Composition. Her teaching style encourages collaboration, close reading and critical thinking skills, and dialogue that connects all works of literature to contemporary life. As director of the General Studies program, she has advised and mentored hundreds of students to achieve the successful completion of their undergraduate degrees.
