Rissa Webb-Simmons

I am a Communication Instructor and Faculty Academic Advisor in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University.

I teach Introduction to Public Speaking, Writing for Mass Media and Introduction to Strategic Communication.

I am a Lion for Life.

I earned both my Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and her Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from Southeastern Louisiana University.

I am a Lion Leader for the incoming freshman each year.

I serve as an assistant to Dr. Laura DiMattia for the Annual Richard Murphy Hospice House Gala.

I want my students to strive for growth not perfection. Every student has their own unique voice and I try to help cultivate that voice in each student. The activities I bring to the classroom teach them about the importance of communication. These activities are also intended to acclimate the students to being in front of an audience.

In my free time I design and make custom tumblers, however, my favorite activity is hanging out with my beautiful granddaughters.
