Robert Barnes is an Instructor and Reference Librarian at Sims Library. He received his Master of Library Science from Louisiana State University. Prior to studying librarianship, he studied music, earning a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Master of Music in Music Theory from University of Louisiana Lafayette. Barnes teaches library research skills, including how to navigate the library resources and evaluating sources, in LS 1020, Introduction to Information Research, and is available to assist with research in Sims Library. Areas of expertise include librarianship, research skills, music performance, music theory, and music resources in libraries. Other areas of interest include technology in libraries and first-year student success.
