Rylie Butler Broussard is a dedicated educator and scholar whose career bridges secondary and higher education through teaching, research, and community engagement. She currently serves as a World History and World Geography Teacher at Live Oak High School in Watson, Louisiana, as well as a Health Science Instructor at Southeastern Louisiana University.
Broussard earned her Master of Science in Health and Kinesiology with a concentration in Health Promotion from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2024, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Southeastern, where she graduated with honors and was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate of the Year in Health Sciences (2023).

Her professional experience reflects a wide range of teaching, administrative, and community health roles. In higher education, Broussard has developed and delivered online health science courses, facilitated student engagement initiatives, and provided timely, constructive feedback to support academic growth. At the secondary level, she has designed rigorous and engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards for both freshmen and senior courses, cultivating critical thinking and problem-solving skills in her students. Her previous work as a graduate assistant at Southeastern further strengthened her expertise in research, teaching support, and academic mentorship.

Broussard’s scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications in Health Promotion Practice, Public Health, and Intergenerational Relations – Contemporary Theories, Studies and Policies, addressing timely issues such as COVID-19’s impact on worksite wellness, ageism prevention through intergenerational mentoring, and substance use in college athletes.
Beyond the classroom, Broussard has served as a Community Liaison for Bridgeway Healthcare & Hospice, coordinated outreach projects, and contributed to public health initiatives through internships with the Tangipahoa Parish Government TRACC Coalition. Her background in physical therapy support and community health advocacy reflects her commitment to improving health and education outcomes at both the individual and community level.

An accomplished and motivated professional, Broussard remains passionate about preparing students for success—whether guiding freshmen in developing strong foundations or mentoring seniors as they transition into their post-secondary and career pathways.
