Dr. Troy Williams is an Assistant Professor of Physics and the founding Program Director of the Southeastern STEM Scholars. He earned his Ph.D. in Science and Mathematics Education from Southern University and A&M College, where his research examined conceptual change in astronomy. His teaching spans introductory physical science through undergraduate physics, with an emphasis on evidence-based, student-centered learning.
Dr. Williams specializes in STEM education, with a focus on STEM identity and self-efficacy. His research activities examine student readiness for and access to STEM majors and careers with a focus on the role of engagement and mentoring on student success.
