Tyler Kinchen, M.A.

Tyler Kinchen is a Lecturer of English in the Department of English and World Languages at Southeastern Louisiana University. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in English from Southeastern. In addition to teaching first-year composition at the university, he has taught English, Digital Storytelling, Creative Writing, Philosophy and Reasoning, and Bible as Literature at the secondary level. Mr. Kinchen is also a musician, bandleader, and creative producer. He leads the ensemble Tyler Kinchen & The Right Pieces, with whom he has released multiple recordings and performed nationally. His dual work as an educator and artist informs his teaching philosophy, which emphasizes creativity, identity, and the power of language and art to connect people.

Composition
