About:
Dr. Victor Swaim serves as an Instructor of Mathematics at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he brings a deep interest in statistics and a passion for teaching to the classroom. With a career grounded in both education and applied statistics, Dr. Swaim is committed to making complex mathematical concepts accessible and engaging for students at all levels.
He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Research Methodology from Louisiana State University in 2009, after completing a Master of Applied Statistics with a minor in Educational Administration and Foundations in 1997—also at LSU. His academic journey began at Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with minors in Education and History in 1991.

Teaching Focus:
Dr. Swaim regularly teaches elementary statistics, college algebra, etc. He is committed to helping students develop both technical proficiency and analytical thinking, Dr. Swaim integrates real-world applications into his instruction to make complex mathematical concepts accessible and engaging. He is dedicated to fostering statistical literacy in both mathematical majors and non-majors.

Area of Expertise

Dr. Swaim is interested in Multivariate Analysis, Categorical Analysis, and Regression Analysis.
