Energize

Energize: Geaux for Launch is the second phase of the groundbreaking Energize Project, a Louisiana Department of Education initiative to prepare teachers for the Computer Science Praxis Exam (5652). This program empowers Louisiana public and public charter school teachers of grades 6-12 to effectively bring Computer Science education to their classrooms, energizing learning experiences across the state.

As we look toward the year ahead, preparations are already underway for more Energize sessions! We are actively anticipating and laying the groundwork for what promises to be a dynamic and impactful experience.

FULL – In Person Cohort

• Dates: June 2 – June 5
• Format: Face-to-face, intensive training at SLU
• Schedule: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM with a 45-minute lunch break
• Capacity: 30 participants
• Skill level: For experienced CS teachers. Eligibility may be based on experience level.

FULL – Virtual Cohort

• Dates: January 19 – May 19
• Format: Virtual, live sessions on Saturdays
• Schedule: Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
• Capacity: 50 participants
• Skill level: Our most beginner friendly option, suited for all skill levels.

FULL – Online Cohort

• Dates: March 17 – May 19
• Format: Asynchronous, 8 weeks
• Capacity: 200 Participants
• Skill level: Best suited for intermediate advanced educators and self-motivated beginners
