Energize

Energize: Geaux for Launch is the second phase of the groundbreaking Energize Project, a Louisiana Department of Education initiative to prepare teachers for the Computer Science Praxis Exam (5652). This program empowers Louisiana public and public charter school teachers of grades 6-12 to effectively bring Computer Science education to their classrooms, energizing learning experiences across the state.

• Pre and post-practice tests, quizzes, exercises, and tutoring to prepare participants for the 5652 Praxis exam

In Person Cohort (Apply by 05/23/25)

• Dates: June 2 – June 5
• Format: Face-to-face, intensive training at SLU
• Schedule: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM with a 45-minute lunch break
• Capacity: 30 participants
• Skill level: For experienced CS teachers. Eligibility may be based on experience level.

FULL – Virtual Cohort (Apply by 1/10/25) 

• Dates: January 19 – May 10
• Format: Virtual, live sessions on Saturdays
• Schedule: Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
• Capacity: 50 participants
• Skill level: Our most beginner friendly option, suited for all skill levels.

FULL – Online Cohort (Apply by 1/10/25)

• Dates: March 17 – May 19
• Format: Asynchronous, 8 weeks
• Capacity: 200 Participants
• Skill level: Best suited for intermediate advanced educators and self-motivated beginners
