Getting Involved

Honors Ambassadors

Southeastern Honors Program ambassadors are here to ease your transition to Southeastern and provide a strong source of knowledge as you prepare for the next step in your journey.

An Honors ambassador is a part of a student-run group of current honors students that represent the Honors Program at a variety of internal and external campus events. Becoming an Honors Ambassador allows you to have a voice in the way the Honors program is organized. You also have opportunities to network with Honors faculty, to sharpen public presentation skills, and to serve the university.

Becoming an Honors Ambassador

Invitations to participate in the Honors Ambassador program are issued upon recommendation of the Honors Club Officers, the Honors Director, and/or the previous class of Honors Ambassadors.  Once selected as an ambassador, students have the option to continue on in the role in future years, but initial appointments require only a commitment to serve for a regular academic term (i.e, fall and spring).

To be an Honors Ambassador a student must:

  1. be a current member of the Honors program in good standing
  2. agree to attend and help with at least three Honors events per semester
  3. serve as a mentor to potential and new students in Honors, and
  4. meet once per year as a part of the Honors Council which will make recommendations to the Honors Director and faculty for continued improvement of the Honors Program.
