Health and Physical Education Grades K-12, BS
Southeastern's Health and Physical Education program leads to teacher certification in Health and Physical Education for grades kindergarten through 12. Students who complete all requirements for teacher licensure in Louisiana are certified to teach Health and Physical Education in elementary, middle/junior high and high schools throughout the state. Also offered are courses leading to teacher certification in Adapted Physical Education and a minor in Athletic Coaching.
The mission of the program in Health and Physical Education Teacher Education is to produce teachers who will have significant impact on the lives of K-12 students in Louisiana by teaching healthful behaviors and activities for use throughout their lives.

Students have access to four teaching/research laboratories, an indoor climbing wall, interactive teaching technology, and outdoor tennis courts
Student involvement in professional development through the Louisiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (LAHPERD), the National Academy of Health and Physical Literacy (NAHPL), and other professional organizations
Honors curriculum available
The health and physical education teacher education program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and approved by the State of Louisiana.
