MESSAGES FROM THE PRESIDENT
Tuition Fee AdjustmentJanuary 07, 2020
Consistent with our institutional core values and “caring” about the success of our students, we are concerned about access and affordability. Likewise, with the competitive recruiting landscape in higher education, we have to maintain a cost of attendance for our students that is competitive relative to other institutions. However, we are also cognizant of the fact that our operational costs continue to increase.
Fall 2019 EnrollmentSeptember 30, 2019
The Fall 2019 freshman class was more than 2.2% larger than the previous year’s freshman class, for a total of 2,733 students. Greater numbers of highly-qualified students are choosing Southeastern, and overall ACT scores for the incoming class are higher. Nearly 800 of our new students have an ACT of 24 or higher, an increase of 7.4%.
Workday Progress UpdateSeptember 24, 2019
Progress continues to be made toward our Workday project goals. For those new employees who may be unaware, the University is moving to Workday, a new Enterprise Resource Planning platform that will replace the current PeopleSoft system. We are migrating to the platform along with two other University of Louisiana System institutions: Louisiana Tech and UNO.
Budget UpdateJune 27, 2019
The 2019 Session of the Louisiana Legislature adjourned on June 6, 2019, and I want to express appreciation for the leadership of Governor John Bel Edwards and for his work and that of many of our legislators in support of funding for higher education.
Budget UpdateJune 26, 2018

Budget UpdateJune 19, 2017
Following a somewhat ignominious June 8 end to the Regular Legislative Session and the associated failure to adopt a State budget, the Louisiana Legislature accomplished the necessary task this past week in a brief special session that ended on June 16, 2017.
