Reconnect to Success

A partnership between Southeastern Louisiana University and Northshore Technical Community College

The Reconnect to Success Program between Southeastern and Northshore Technical Community College enables students who are suspended from Southeastern to continue to earn credit toward their Southeastern degree.

Eligible suspended students will have a period of one fall semester or one spring semester during which they will take NTCC courses that will apply toward their Southeastern degree or help them be successful in their transition back to Southeastern.

Program Eligibility:
-Freshman or Sophomore Standing (No more than 60 earned credits)
   -First Suspension from Southeastern

The Process:
   1. As stated in your Suspension letter, Southeastern’s Registrar will refer eligible suspended students to NTCC
   2. NTCC will contact those eligible suspended students via their Southeastern email
   3. Follow the steps in the email to sign up for the program
   4. Work with NTCC staff to enroll in classes

Note:  Your suspension can be appealled through your Southeastern academic dean (refer to option 1 in your original suspension letter). If your appeal is denied, you will still have the option to participate in the Reconnect to Success program as long as you sign up before NTCC classes begin.

Your Courses:
Students will work with Reconnect to Success staff members at NTCC to enroll in courses that will count toward their Southeastern degree. All participants will also take a mandatory 3-hour Student Success Pathways course, developed jointly by both Southeastern and NTCC faculty.

Refer to the Southeastern Equivalent Courses List to find courses that will count toward your Southeastern degree. The courses on the Technical Courses List will not transfer to Southeastern.

Your Cost:
There are no application or transfer-of-data fees associated with this program. You will pay NTCC’s regular tuition and fees. You will pay all tuition and fees directly to NTCC.

Your Financial Aid:
If you are currently receiving a PELL grant, you may be eligible for PELL grant funds at NTCC. To begin that process, first add NTCC’s school code (006756) to your FAFSA. You can either add it online yourself at or at NTCC’s Financial Aid office. Once you add NTCC’s School code, you will receive further instructions and information directly from NTCC.

Room and Board:
If you currently live on campus and would like to continue to reside on campus, you may request special approval to purchase room and board while participating in the Reconnect to Success program. If approval is granted, the regular published residence hall and meal plan rates will apply and must be paid directly to Southeastern. Please contact Southeastern’s University Housing Office if you are interested.

After Reconnect to Success:
Reconnect to Success students will be eligible to participate in Southeastern’s Priority Registration for their next semester at Southeastern. Prior to registration, students must meet with their Southeastern Academic Advisor. Be sure to check your LEONET account for more details.

At the conclusion of your Reconnect to Success semester, the NTCC classes and grades that are equivalent to Southeastern courses will automatically be added to your academic record.
