Louisiana residents, 18 years of age or older and not affiliated with Southeastern Louisiana University, may become registered borrowers with the Sims Memorial Library. The annual cost is $25 for a single borrower or $50 for up to 3 family members from the same household. The loan period is 3 weeks and a maximum 10 items may be checked out. The card must be presented along with a photo ID each time items are charged.
To apply for a Community Borrowing Program Membership, please bring a completed application form and a check (made payable to Southeastern Louisiana University) or cash to the Circulation Desk.
Non-Southeastern users may purchase a guest printing card from the Circulation Desk (1st floor lobby) to print from the public access computers in the Reference Room (1st floor). The price of a card is $1.00 for 10 pages or $5.00 for 50 pages. Only exact cash payments are accepted.

Southeastern Louisiana University students, faculty and staff, who are in good standing, may request a LOUIS Reciprocal Borrowing Card that will be honored at participating Louisiana academic libraries. For more information, visit LOUIS Resource Sharing.

Course Reserves are supplemental course materials that are chosen by faculty for students in their classes. Reserves can be borrowed for 2 hours, overnight, 3 days or 1 week (decided by the instructor). Reserves are only available for currently enrolled Southeastern students. Sims Library has 10 group study rooms on the fourth floor for collaborative study, class work and research. Study rooms accommodate 2-6 persons and are available on a first-come, first served basis to Southeastern students. Rooms may be checked out on the spot at the Circulation Desk with a valid Southeastern ID.

Sims Library houses study carrels on the third and fourth floors that are available for assignment to support study and research by currently enrolled graduate students and full-time faculty. Each carrel is equipped with a desk, chair and electrical outlet. Applications for study carrels are available online.
