Koresh Dance Company to appear at Columbia Theatre

KORESH DANCE COMPANY - Southeastern Louisiana University's Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts will present Koresh Dance Company Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Columbia Theatre box office, online at columbiatheatre.org, or by calling 985-543-4371.


HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University's Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts will present Koresh Dance Company, for one night only on Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the downtown Hammond theater.

The concert will include a blend of ballet, modern and jazz dance to the music of Bach, Bolero, Mozart and more. A post-performance discussion is also scheduled and included with ticket purchase.

Columbia Theatre Interim Director Roy Blackwood said Koresh Dance Company has been hailed internationally, touring destinations such as Spain, Turkey, Israel, South Korea, Mexico and Guatemala. Known for its engaging performances and technically superb dancers, the company's critically acclaimed work continues to attract increasing audiences.

"Over the years Roni Koresh has developed a vast repertoire of work that ranges from explosive and passionate, to intimate and restrained," he said. "The company also presents work by guest choreographers, including Ohad Naharin, Robert Battle, Donald Byrd, Itzik Galili and Paul Selwyn Norton."

Tickets range from $34 - $42 and are available at the Columbia Theatre box office Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. or by phone at (985) 543-4371. Patrons may also purchase tickets online at www.columbiatheatre.org. Special student tickets are available for $16.

All Southeastern faculty, retired faculty or university staff with ID may purchase one ticket for Koresh Dance Company and receive one ticket at half price.
