HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University's Non-Credit Programs is offering two five-week courses on novel writing at its St. Tammany Center on Koop Drive in Mandeville, and enrollment is currently underway.

Taught by award-winning author Robin Wells, the first course, "How to Write a Novel," will cover the basics of fiction writing, including story structure, plotting, character development, dialogue, description and point of view. The class will be held March 11 through April 8 on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:15 p.m.

The second course, "Advanced Novel Writing," is a follow-up class for those who have previously completed the basic course, and is designed to help writers implement the learned techniques. It will begin on March 10 and will be held for five consecutive Mondays from 7-8:15 p.m.

The cost for each course is $150.00.

A resident of Mandeville, Wells is the author of 16 novels that have been translated into 19 different languages. She has won two National Readers' Choice Awards, the Romance Writers' of America Golden Heart Award, the Holt Medallion and the Award of Excellence.
