LaCAP TO SPONSOR 'TOAST' – For the third consecutive year, La Capitol Federal Credit Union will be the exclusive Platinum Sponsor of the President's Toast, Southeastern Louisiana University's prelude event to Chefs Evening, scheduled this year for Sunday, March 23. HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University's largest fundraiser, Chefs Evening, will launch the annual event with the President's Toast as a featured prelude thanks to the exclusive platinum sponsorship of La Capitol Federal Credit Union.
Providing the food and wine pairings for this year's event is Chef Doyle Orlando of Jacmel Inn.
The President's Toast precedes the grand event and is scheduled this year for Sunday, March 23, at the President's Residence from 4 to 5 p.m. Chefs Evening follows from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the newly constructed Student Union Grand Ballroom.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Chefs Evening is the Southeastern Foundation's signature fundraiser, providing critical funds to support university scholarships and academic programs. This year, the evening will include a new twist by offering "farm to table" pairings from some of the finest regional restaurants and farms.
"La Capital Federal Credit Union and Jacmel Inn have been faithful partners with the university and Chefs Evening," said Lynn Horgan, director of individual, corporate and foundation relations. "LaCap became the first ever corporate sponsor of Chefs Evening in 2007, and this year will mark the fourth consecutive year LaCap will be the platinum sponsor for the President's Toast. Jacmel Inn was one of the original restaurants to participate in Chefs Evening and has never missed a year in contributing to the success of Chefs Evening."
