HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University will host a seminar on effective use of Facebook in business on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The free event will be held in Livingston at the Livingston Parish Library main branch, located at 20390 Iowa Street, from 9 a.m. to noon.

"The presentation is a guide for small businesses or nonprofits that have been using Facebook for social media marketing, but need some tips to take them to an intermediate level," said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the SBDC.

Summers said core concepts will include a close look at Facebook; how to tell if it is right for your business; what kind of content to create and post; online etiquette; how to tell if content is working; suggestions on what to do next; and why social media and email marketing must be used together.

There is no charge to attend the event; however, pre-registration is preferred. For more information, contact LSBDC Southeastern at 985-549-3831 or lsbdc.slu@lsbdc.org. Online registration is available at www.lsbdc.org.
