     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences honored top graduates at its annual honors convocation April 30.
     Departmental awards were presented to the following:
     ABITA SPRINGS – Emma Foster, Martina Buck Award in History.
     BATON ROUGE – Cabrina Gordon, Outstanding Senior Award in Communication; Jessica Lewis, F. Dale Parent Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in Sociology.
     DENHAM SPRINGS – Anna Arceneaux, Outstanding Senior Award in English, Language and Literature; Kimberely Calhoun, D Vickers Award in Creative Writing.
     FRANKLINTON– Carlee Newman, Marc P. Riedel Outstanding Senior Award in Criminal Justice.
     GONZALES – Caroline Wright, Outstanding Senior Award in Music Education.
     HAMMOND – Sungkyung Woo, James Wilcox Outstanding Graduating Senior Award; Blair Gallon, Outstanding Senior Award in Art History; Melissa Robertson, Outstanding Senior Award in New Media and Animation.
     LAPLACE – Julia Torres, Outstanding Senior in Graphic Design.
     MADISONVILLE– Mollie Faucheaux, Ralph R. Pottle Outstanding Freshman Award; Danielle Jones, Outstanding Senior in Drawing.
     MANDEVILLE – Shelby Elliott-Layman, Outstanding Senior Award in General Studies; Devon Kravet, Outstanding Senior in Photography.
     PONCHATOULA – Tyler Puffpaff, Director’s Award in General Studies; Stephanie Stafford, Harold Leu Award in Political Science.
     SORRENTO– Scout Savoy, Outstanding Senior Award in Psychology.
     SPRINGFIELD – Madison Smith, Outstanding Senior in Theatre Design.
     WALKER – Bailee Owens, Outstanding Senior Award in English, Creative Writing; Madison Lane, Outstanding Senior in Printmaking.
     Also at the convocation, the college honored three faculty members with awards. Recognized were Margaret Gonzalez-Perez, Excellence in Teaching; Cristina Molina, Excellence in Artistic Activity; and Amber Narro, Excellence in Service.
     Additionally, the college honored inductees into the Southeastern chapter of Phi Kappa Phi national honor society and the university’s honor society the Thirteen Club.

CUTLINES

1) SOUTHEASTERN ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES HONORS (Ascension) – Southeastern Louisiana University students Scout Savoy, left, of Sorrento, and Caroline Wright of Gonzales were honored at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences’ April 30 honors convocation. Savoy received the Outstanding Senior Award in Psychology, and Wright received the Outstanding Senior Award in Music Education.

2) SOUTHEASTERN ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES HONORS (East Baton Rouge) - Southeastern Louisiana University students Jessica Lewis, left, and Cabrina Gordon, both of Baton Rouge, were honored at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences’ April 30 honors convocation. Lewis received the F. Dale Parent Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in Sociology, and Gordon received the Outstanding Senior Award in Communication.

3) SOUTHEASTERN ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES HONORS (Livingston) -- Southeastern Louisiana University students from Livingston Parish who were honored at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences’ April 30 honors convocation were, from left, Madison Lane of Walker, Outstanding Senior Award in Printmaking; Madison Smith of Springfield, Outstanding Senior Award in Theatre Design; and Anna Arceneaux, Outstanding Senior Award in English and Kimberely Calhoun, the D Vickers Award in Creative Writing, both of Denham Springs.

4) SOUTHEASTERN ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES HONORS (St. John the Baptist) – Southeastern Louisiana University student Julia Torres from LaPlace, right, was honored at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences’ April 30 honors convocation. Torres received the Outstanding Senior Award in Graphic Design. Congratulating her is Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Karen Fontenot.

5) SOUTHEASTERN ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES HONORS (St. Tammany) – Southeastern Louisiana University students from St. Tammany Parish who were honored at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences’ April 30 honors convocation were, from left, Devon Kravet of Mandeville, Outstanding Senior Award in Photography, Danielle Jones of Madisonville, Outstanding Senior Award in Drawing; Shelby Elliott-Layman of Mandeville, Outstanding Senior in General Studies Award; Mollie Faucheaux of Madisonville, Ralph R. Pottle Outstanding Senior Award in Music Education; and Emma Foster of Abita Springs, Martina Buck Award in History.

7) SOUTHEASTERN ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES HONORS (Washington) Southeastern Louisiana University student Carlee Newman from Franklinton, left, was honored at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences’ April 30 honors convocation. Newman received the Marc P. Riedel Outstanding Senior Award in Criminal Justice. Congratulating her is Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Karen Fontenot.
