Northlake Community Band to perform May 14

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University will present the Northlake Community
Band in concert Tuesday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m., in Pottle Auditorium on Southeastern’s
campus. Titled “Marching in the Academic Procession,” the concert is free and open
to the public.
Conducted by Jerry Voorhees, the concert will feature works by J. P. Sousa, A.
Alvarez, J. Brahms, Andrew Lloyd Webber, G. F. Handel and others.
The Northlake Community Band consists of musicians from high school students
through retired professionals and always welcomes new members.
