HAMMOND – The Innovation Hub at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Sims Memorial Library is hosting a free event with two date options titled “Starting, Recording, and Distributing Your First Podcast.” Scheduled Sept. 13 and 14 from 2 to 4 p.m., both sessions are available in person at the iHub in Sims Library or virtually online via Google Meet.
Communication Professor Joe Burns, who runs the “Rock School” podcast, among others, will lead the sessions. Participants will gain enough information to get started creating a national podcast or a small one for personal or professional needs.
“The idea of a Podcast can be intimidating,” Burns said. “How do I create it? What equipment do I need? Are there laws I have to be concerned about? Once I have it, what do I do with it?”
The event is open to all Southeastern faculty, staff and students, as well as the community at large. Interested individuals should RSVP to attend at southeastern.edu/ihub.
