Southeastern announces 2023 Homecoming Court

      HAMMOND – Fourteen Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2023 Homecoming Court. They will reign over festivities during Homecoming week Oct. 9 – 14.
     Chosen as members of the queen court are seniors Kendall Adams, Prairieville; Madeline Grippi, Baton Rouge; Hallie Kent, Fluker; Sarah Pennington, Madisonville; Abby Stogner, Bogalusa; and juniors Halle Boren, Covington; and Caroline Neumeyer, Metairie.
     Elected members of the king court are seniors Demille Davis, Covington; Peyton Kennedy, Baton Rouge; JD McKinney, Ponchatoula; Lucien Nasset, Tickfaw; Zachary Poche, Prairieville; and sophomores Anthony Garner, Baton Rouge; and Kyle Hidalgo, Sun.
     The 2023 queen and king, the top junior or senior vote-getters in the recent online campus election, will be announced Saturday, Oct. 14.
     Adams is an early childhood education major. She is a vice president of the Lambda Omicron chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and National Pan-Hellenic Council president.
     Grippi, a health systems management major, is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She serves as president of the Collegiate Panhellenic Council and is treasurer of Greek Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.
     Kent majors in health sciences and currently serves as president of Phi Mu. She is a member of the Kinesiology Student Association and is a leader and secretary in Greek Intervarsity
     Pennington, a management major, is a member of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority and is a College of Business Ambassador.
     Stogner is a marketing major. She is a member of Phi Mu fraternity and Pi Sigma Epsilon.
     Boren, a nursing major, is a member of Phi Mu, where she serves as the honor chairwoman of the executive board. She is also a co-leader of bible study within her chapter and panhellenic community and a member of Nurses Christian Fellowship.
     Neumeyer is a nursing major. She is a member of American Medical Women’s Association, Delight, Student Nurse Association, and Alpha Omicron Pi.
     Davis is a music major. He is a member of Southeastern Campus Tour Guides, SLU Wind Symphony, Spirit of the Southland Marching Band, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, and the Reginald F. Lewis Scholars Program.
     Kennedy, is a double major in supply chain management and business administration. He is the vice president of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, vice president for the Interfraternity Council, founder and president of Young Economist Society, co-director of Organizational Outreach for the Student Government Association (SGA), and vice president of education for Toastmasters Internationals. He is also a member of the College of Business Ambassadors program, Supply Chain Management Club, and Phi Kappa Phi.
     McKinney is a kinesiology major. He is a member of SGA, the Kinesiology Student Association, and Southeastern Students for Life. He also serves as treasurer of Baptist Collegiate Ministry and chaplain, operations and logistics manager for Tau Kappa Epsilon, leader and co-leader for All-Fraternities Bible Study of Greek Intervarsity, and an ambassador for the Honors and Southeastern’s Media and Marketing programs.
     Nasset is a psychology major and serves as treasurer of Lavender Lions and student life chair of SGA’s Senate.
    Poche, a history major, is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, where he serves as academics and scholarship chairman. He is also an SGA senator, vice president of events for Order of Omega, and is a founding member of the Admissions Ambassador Program.
     Garner is a criminal justice major. He is a member of SGA, the Pre-Law Association, Debate Team, Lavender Lions and Theta Chi.
     Hidalgo is a political science major. He serves as SGA Senator for the College of Honors and Excellence, vice president for the Honors Student Association, vice president for Interfraternity Council, executive of Tau Kappa Epsilon, and secretary of the Debate Society. He is also an ExCel Scholar, an Honors Ambassador and mentor.
