Southeastern Computer Science Department to present Industry Connect Lecture

COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT TO HOST INDUSTRY CONNECT LECTURE - Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Computer Science is hosting the first of the fall Industry Connect Distinguished Lectures Sept. 21, at 4 p.m. Marcel Lalonde, the chief information officer of MMR Group, will serve as guest speaker and present “From then to Now: A Journey of Success and Failures.”


     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Computer Science is hosting the first of the fall Industry Connect Distinguished Lectures Sept. 21, at 4 p.m. Scheduled in the Envoc Innovation Lab, located in room 2026 in the Computer Science and Technology Building, the free lecture is titled “From then to Now: A Journey of Success and Failures.”
     Marcel Lalonde of MMR Group will serve as guest speaker. Lalonde is a Vice President of MMR Group, serving as Chief Information Officer and overseeing the company’s information technology services throughout 30 offices in North and South America. As the largest open-shop electrical and instrumentation contractor in the nation, MMR is the industry leader in electrical construction, maintenance, and technical services, consistently ranking at the top of Engineering News-Record’s annual specialty contractor’s list.
     Lalonde has served MMR for over a decade and is responsible for building infrastructure and application systems that will scale to adapt the company’s continuous growth, which includes revenues of $967 million and a 5,500 nationwide workforce in 2022.
