HAMMOND – L’Oreal Williams of Kenner, president of the Southeastern Louisiana University Student Government Association, has been elected by the University of Louisiana System’s Student Advisory Council to serve on the system’s Board of Supervisors.
A double major in business management and marketing, Williams will serve as the student voice on the board, the governing body of nine Louisiana universities.
“Being elected by my fellow student government association presidents to represent all of the students of our system is astonishing,” Williams said. “I am ready to put the best foot forward for the students of each university.”
Williams is a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honors Society, College of Business Ambassadors, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has previously served as a 2019 Orientation Leader, Senator for the College of Business, Vice President of SGA, and as the Service and Learning Coordinator for the ULS Student Advisory Council.
“I have every confidence that L’Oreal will do a wonderful job representing the students of our nine System institutions,” said Southeastern President John L. Crain. “She has done a remarkable job representing Southeastern’s student body, so well in fact that she was recently elected to serve a second term as Southeastern’s SGA President.”
The Universities of Louisiana, one of the nation’s largest higher education systems, is a made up of nine distinct educational institutions serving more than 91,500 students and awarding more than 16,500 degrees annually.
