Fourteen Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2024 Homecoming Court. They will reign over festivities during Homecoming week Oct. 14 – 19.
Chosen as members of the queen court are seniors Anna Ferrand, Walker; Madison Ourso, Amite; Sophie Serpas, Covington; Mary Sutton, Hammond; Ellie Torrance, Albany; and juniors Lauren Clements, Loranger; and Anyah Matthews, Zachary.
Elected members of the king court are seniors Pranup Adhikari, Nepal; Josiah Fields, Patterson; and Corban Saucier, Walker; juniors Javier Amador, Springfield; Jireh Childs, New Orleans; and Wesley Watson, Mandeville; and sophomore Lucky Ameh, Nigeria.
The 2024 queen and king, the top junior or senior vote-getters in the recent online campus election, will be announced Saturday, Oct. 19.
Ferrand is a strategic communications major. She is a member and captain of the track and field team and has been named to the President’s List. She was also a member of the Kappa Sigma Crescent Court and was one of 20 communication students to meet Robin Roberts on campus.
Madison Ourso, a kinesiology major, is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, where she received the Ruby Slipper Award and served on the Executive Board in 2022. She is also a member of Greek Intervarsity (IV), a Christian ministry that helps fraternity and sorority students balance their Greek life and their faith, and is the 2023-2024 Kappa Sigma Sweetheart.
Serpas majors in psychology and is a member of Phi Mu, where she currently serves as major mu and sisterhood director and was selected sweetheart. She is also a member of Delight Ministry, Greek IV, and has been named to the President’s List every semester. Serpas is the recipient of the Jackie Dale Thomas Green S Award and the Outstanding Sophomore Award.
Sutton, a psychology major, is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, where she was selected Member of the Month in September. She is also a member of Research Incubator for Psychology Students and the Judicial Board for Southeastern’s Panhellenic.
Torrance is a marketing major. She is a member of Phi Mu fraternity, where she serves as vice president of chapter development, and Southeastern Panhellenic, where she serves as vice president of education. Torrance is also the Sigma Tau Gamma White Rose sweetheart and was selected as a Top 6 seller in the Southeastern Sales Program for 2023-2024.
Clements, a kinesiology major, is a member of Phi Mu, where she serves as president and was selected as sweetheart. She is also a member of the Order of Omega, Greek IV, and an ambassador for the Office of Admissions. She is the recipient of the Jackie Dale Thomas Green S Award and has been named to the President’s List.
Matthews is a kinesiology major. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, where she was selected as sweetheart. She is also a member of Project PULL, Elite Women, Black Student Union, and was a 2023-2024 orientation leader. Matthews has been named to the President’s, Dean’s, and Honor’s lists.
Adhikari is a biological sciences major. He is a member of the International Student Union, the Nepalese Student Association, Student Government Association, and Up to Us Southeastern. Adhikari was named the Hall of Fame winner, the International Student of the Year, and a Student of the Year finalist.
Fields is a business administration major. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Black Student Union, Project PULL, Project Hope, Excel Scholarship Program, and Code Green. Fields is also the recipient of the Jackie Dale Thomas Green S Award, was named the BSU Prom King, and has been named to the President’s and Honor’s lists.
Saucier is a marketing major. He is a member of the Southeastern rugby team, Pi Sigma Epsilon, and the Professional Sales Program. Saucier received Sophomore Honors Distinction and was twice named the most improved player on the rugby team.
Amador is a strategic communications major and serves as a resident assistant on campus. He is involved in Tau Kappa Epsilon and is a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and the Spanish Club. Amador also served as an admissions ambassador and a Baptist Collegiate Ministry leader. He was named Sophomore of the Year in 2023, was an orientation leader, and was named to the President’s List.
Childs, a construction engineering technology major, is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, where he serves as president. He is also an Excel Scholar, an Honor Student, and a member of Baptist Collegiate Ministry. Childs was a Posse Scholarship nominee, an All-State Sugar Bowl Athlete, and was named to the Dean’s List.
Watson is a business administration major. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, where he serves as special events chairman, and a member of the Supply Chain Management Club and Campus Outreach, where he serves as president. Watson has been named to the Dean’s List and was selected as Phi Mu’s Miracle Man.
Ameh is a criminal justice major. He is chair of the International Student Union, assistant student coordinator of Project PULL, an honors ambassador, an Office of Admissions ambassador, and a member of the Black Student Union. Ameh was an Honors Freshman of the Year finalist and an Outstanding International Student finalist.
