The group Friends of Sims Library is hosting its 16th annual “Wine with Friends,” a fundraiser for Southeastern’s Linus A. Sims Memorial Library, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8.
Held at the library, the event will feature several wines paired with food samplings, live music, a silent auction that boasts art, books, wine and gift certificates for restaurants, events and services, said Sims Library Director David Sesser. Buddies Bar and Grill will return as caterers for the event.
Wines will be introduced by Eric Johnson, president of the Friends of Sims Library and former director of the library.
The Friends of Sims Library is the organization that supports the activities and collections of the library. Funds generated by the Friends are used to supplement the library’s annual budget, purchase needed equipment and resources, and provide programs, lectures, author readings and signings, and other special events.
Tickets are $85 each and are available at southeastern.edu/librarywine. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the tasting beginning at 7 p.m. Space is limited, so reservations are suggested by Oct. 31 to guarantee seating. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
