Ten Southeastern Louisiana University students will compete on Jan. 31 for the title of Miss Southeastern 2025.

Shelby Bordelon of Sunshine, Miss Southeastern 2024, will crown her successor in the annual pageant scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Hammond. Free and open to the public, event seating is first come, first served.

Sponsored by the Campus Activity Board, the pageant has been a part of Southeastern’s history since 1949 and a Miss America preliminary since 1962.

The look of the 2025 pageant is “Southeastern Green and Gold” in celebration of the university’s centennial year. The host for the event is Southeastern Communication Professor and Interim Department Head Joe Burns.

Delegates for the title are psychology major Makayla Wilson of Ponchatoula, nursing major Alexis Cavalier of Livingston, finance major Madison Hogan of Mandeville, strategic communications major Ragan Hoover of Loranger, Spanish major Paige Bigelow of Rayville, music education major Miranda Sensat of Denham Springs, general studies major Sara Cavalier of Central, management major Sara Gil of French Settlement, English education major Eva Delatte of Ponchatoula, and communication sciences and disorders major Samantha Kapoulas of Baton Rouge.

The contestants will compete in five categories: private interview, on-stage conversation, health and fitness, talent and red carpet.

Miss Southeastern 2025 will advance to the Miss Louisiana Pageant in June in Monroe.
