Southeastern has always taken pride in its connection to the Hammond community. From on-field sponsorships at football games to campus events in Railroad Park, the university has consistently delivered the message that Southeastern and the Hammond community come as a package deal.

Monday, October 13, marks the beginning of a monumental annual occasion in Hammond, America. It is the start of Southeastern’s Centennial Homecoming, and the university invites students, families, alumni and the community to be part of every step during this incredible week.

Beginning with the Homecoming Kickoff in the Student Union Breezeway and concluding after the football game on Saturday, October 18, the university will continue celebrating its 100-year festivities alongside you.

After the kickoff, students are encouraged to join the Lion Up Tuesday fun by wearing green and showing off their Lion Pride. On Wednesday, October 15, lunch is on us at the Student Union for Gumbo Ya-Ya. Come for the outstanding gumbo and stay for the events Southeastern has planned for the rest of the afternoon.

If you can’t make it for the start of the week, don’t miss the weekend. All alumni and students are invited to show their support for their colleges at Throwback Thursday in downtown Hammond. This once-in-a-century event brings the community and alumni together at a variety of local restaurants in downtown Hammond, including Benny’s Place, Mariners Inn, Cena and more.

Vickers Hall. Her visit will include a tour of campus and a look at the new buildings and features planned for the future.

The Centennial Documentary will have a viewing on Friday, showcasing the 100-year history of the university in a visual masterpiece on screen. Information regarding the anticipated Centennial Documentary viewing will be revealed in the coming weeks.
