Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Business is launching an online medical sales training program to prepare students and working professionals for careers in the rapidly-growing medical sales industry. Beginning in spring 2026, the program will be offered in a flexible online format to accommodate individuals balancing work, school, or career transitions.

Professional Sales Instructor and the College of Business Healthcare Industry Programs Coordinator Travis McCoy explained that as healthcare continues to expand, demand is increasing for professionals who can navigate the specialized field of medical sales.

“This program is designed with both industry needs and student success in mind,” he said. “We’re equipping learners with the tools and confidence they need to succeed in a high-demand, high-reward field.”

Coursework will cover navigating the medical sales industry, medical terminology, applying evidence to improve healthcare outcomes, professional selling strategies, advanced techniques, and sales leadership.

Ideal for sales professionals looking to specialize or healthcare workers seeking to transition into sales roles, the program combines healthcare literacy with business acumen.
