OSE Student Workers

Student Workers in the Office for Student Engagement are paid student ambassadors who assist Student Engagement with co-curricular and extracurricular activities, leadership development of students, and creating an inclusive environment. Students are provided with opportunities to gain experiences and knowledge outside of the classroom through interactive experiences, peer consulting, and developing students professionally.

Student Workers

Student workers in the Office for Student Engagement are work-study students who assist with co-curricular and extracurricular activities and program, leadership development of students, and creating an inclusive environment.

Areas within the Office for Student Engagement are:

  • Campus Activities Board (CAB)
  • Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL)
  • Leadership Development
  • International Programs and Student Well-being
  • Roomie’s Pride Pantry
  • Student Organizations
  • Student Government Association (SGA)

Student worker responsibilities and duties are as follows:

  • Answer phones and assist with clerical duties
  • Perform daily office operations and task, such as checking the mail, voicemails, and cleaning
  • Greet those who come into the office and provide customer service to all students, faculty, staff, and guest that come in the office
  • Assist students by providing scantrons and office/campus resources
  • Maintain office cleanliness 
  • Other duties or tasks assigned by supervisors

Student worker time commitment:

  • Must be able to work at least 10-15 hours each week

Student worker eligibility requirements:

  • Must have and maintain at least a 2.5 semester and cumulative GPA
  • Must be free of any disciplinary or academic probation
  • Must be enrolled full-time as a Southeastern student (at least 12 credit hours)

Student worker application process:

  1. Complete application by deadline
  2. Participate in interview process with Student Engagement staff
  3. Confirm acceptance of job opportunity, if offered
  4. Complete student worker contract and onboarding – including training and being added to schedule
