Department of Sociology and Criminal JusticeDr. Michael G. Bisciglia is an associate professor of Criminal Justice specializing in the impact of residential segregation on rates homicide among Latino/a and African Americans. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Louisiana State University and a M.A. in Applied Sociology and a certification in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University. He has been published in several journals including the American Journal of Distance Education, Sage Open, Deviant Behavior and the International Journal of Crime, Criminal Justice and Law. Dr. Bisciglia teaches a variety of course in the Criminal Justice program including: Deviance and Social Control, Crime in America, Drugs Crime and Social Policy, and Criminal Justice Ethics. He additionally teaches several courses in the Applied Sociology Program including: Evaluation and Assessment, Applied Research Design and Methodology, and Race, Class, Gender and the Criminal Justice System. Currently Dr. Bisciglia serves as an Evaluator for Future Problem Solving Program International and is a Board Member for Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa.
