Young Ju Chae is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. She earned her Ph.D. in Criminology and Justice Policy from Northeastern University in Boston. Her research has examined the integration of social contexts with dual-process models of crime, as well as the influence of psychosocial and cognitive factors on delinquent behavior. Her current work focuses on developing cures and treatments to reduce crime and recidivism by promoting mind–body therapies and enhancing social skills, cognitive reasoning, and self-control.
