Laura Aucoin is the skills lab coordinator at the Baton Rogue campus of the School of Nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology (BS) from the University of Georgia in 1994 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2014. She worked at Woman’s Hospital in Labor & Delivery and later in the high-risk OB unit. She has worked in community-based peer support lactation groups since 2000 and received certification as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in 2016. Laura is a member of the United States Lactation Consultant Association and won the Nightingale Award for Rookie of the year in 2016.

Laura coordinates nursing labs 305, 315, 335, and 403, setting up, organizing, and ordering supplies. She also facilitates simulation for 3rd and 4th semester nursing students as needed, working to enhance students’ clinical experiences.
