Associate Professor of Engineering Technology - Construction /Civil Engineering
Dr . Zeidanis an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology. He joined the faculty at Southeastern in January 2013 as an instructor. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with an area of Structural/Materials Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (May 2013). His doctoral research focused on the performance of concrete incorporating nano-silica. He also earned a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Alexandria University in Egypt (November 2006), and a Master of Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University (May 2019).

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀:
With more than 20 years of experience in post-secondary teaching in 3 different academic institutions, Dr. Zeidan consistently delivered courses like Reinforced Concrete Design, Steel Structure Design, Soils/Foundation design and Mechanics of Materials. He is a passionate educator who continuously innovates, incorporating new elements and improving course content to enhance the learning experience.

𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀:
• Professional Engineer (Civil) licensed by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers since 2018.
• Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors Endowed Research Professorship in Industrial and Engineering Technology (2020-2023)
• Edward G. Schlieder Foundation Professorships of Environmental Studies and Sustainability (starting 2025)

Area of Expertise

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: Industry and academic experience in design of RC and steel buildings, seismic analysis of structure and bridges.
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀: Focusing on improving performance and sustainability of concrete using advanced additives, recycled materials and alternative cementitious materials. Research also included using FRP reinforcement for construction and repairs of concrete elements.
