Address the growing need for mental health services and make a difference in the lives of individuals with psychiatric disorders with our MSN program, focusing on psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). You’ll be immersed in how to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders, provide therapy, and prescribe medications. Gain the expertise to work in psychiatric clinics, hospitals, and community mental health centers, as well as the ability to provide compassionate and evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan.

Member of the Intercollegiate Consortium for a Master of Science in Nursing Program (ICMSN)
Faculty are recognized for their expertise within the university, as well as throughout the health care community at local, state and national levels
Special computer and skills labs at the Hammond campus and the Baton Rouge Center equipped with human patient simulators (SimMan) and other resources
Southeastern's graduates consistently achieve highly successful pass rates on national certification examinations
Total clinical/clock hours: 600
All students must complete a thesis or focused scholarly project
