Marie Arnone is a seasoned health sciences educator and practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in exercise science, human performance, and athletic coaching. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of kinesiology and health sciences at Southeastern Louisiana University, where she teaches foundational courses in biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor learning. Her teaching approach emphasizes applied learning through hands-on labs, real-world demonstrations, evidence-based practice, and student mentorship, all designed to prepare graduates for careers in fitness, health sciences, and wellness.

In addition to her academic role, Arnone is the Director of Aquatics for the Hammond Recreation Center. In this position, she oversees safety, staffing, instructional programming, community outreach, and youth athletic development. She manages aquatics programs that serve a wide range of participants each quarter while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, advancing staff training, and building community partnerships to support growth and engagement.

Beyond her work in higher education and community recreation, Arnone operates her private practice, Personal Fitness and Wellness. Through this practice, she provides individualized strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, and sports coaching. She works with clients of all ages and ability levels, offering programs focused on performance enhancement, injury prevention, and long-term wellness strategies.

Her areas of expertise include exercise physiology and human performance, curriculum development and academic instruction, sports coaching and athlete development, preventative health and wellness promotion, risk and safety compliance in aquatics programs, and student mentorship and career advising.

Arnone holds a Master of Science in Exercise Science & Human Performance from California University of Pennsylvania, a Mini Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She also maintains multiple professional certifications, including Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM), Certified Pool Operator (PHTA), First Aid and CPR Instructor (American Heart Association and American Red Cross), and Certified Lifeguard and Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer (YMCA and American Red Cross).
